Welcome to the Spring 2011 Exploratorium Wiki!

Libraries open the world of discovery and learning for our students, teachers, and school communities. Welcome to a day of discovery for yourself, as we share and learn together the promising ideas that transform libraries into hubs of inquiry, literacy, critical thinking, technology use, digital citizenship, and reading motivation. Enjoy!
Today’s Exploratorium provides you with a variety of opportunities for learning from which to choose (see the Agenda and Schedule on the following pages for times and descriptions):
· Two sessions of Exploratorium table displays with presentations by your colleagues;
· Two professional development sessions for in-depth exploration of curriculum mapping or teaching inquiry and research;
· Demonstrations of e-resources by Follett Library Resources and digital primary sources by NBC Learn, our conference sponsors;
· Library tours;
· Special sessions in the computer lab;
· Information about summer reading and the DOE/NYPL union catalog pilot;
· Table displays by the New York Historical Society, Museum of the Moving Image, and the public library systems;
· A Technology Petting Zoo.
